Knowing that tomorrow I will not have a lot of time to write a blog, I start writing it today.
As I mentioned yesterday, I received an e-mail with 26 essentials for blogging success: http://www.socialmediaexaminer.com/author/ali-luke/
So today a little about what I really liked in this e-mail.
Let me review item #2.
This is about building relationships.
As you may know I do have a home based business, and since I started I have learned a lot about social media and marketing. Granted I just scratched the tip of the iceberg, there is so much information out there, and it can be hard and confusing and extremely time consuming to try and make sense of it all. Now I am not going to pretend that I can make sense of it all, because I can't
But some of the information I stumbled on is very valuable, and I want to share this with you all here in the Ultimate Blog Challenge. Included the link to the webpage, and also posted it on Twitter, so you can easily retrieve the information for yourself.
Below an excerpt from the full article:
#2: Bloggers: Build Relationships
One of the most powerful factors influencing your online success is whether you have support from other bloggers. Instead of seeing other blogs in your niche as competitors, see them as potential allies.
Fellow bloggers can help you by:
- Linking to, retweeting or sharing your posts
- Providing advice when you’re stuck (ask around on Twitter, Facebook or blogging-related forums if you have a problem you can’t solve)
- Being supportive and encouraging – this can make a huge difference when you’re having a bad blogging day
Social networks are often a great place to begin building a relationship with fellow bloggers, and virtually all bloggers will have a presence on Twitter or Facebook. You may also want to reach out by leaving thoughtful, valuable comments on their posts.
These words reflect exactly what the Ultimate Blog Challenge is trying to achieve as well and that is why I wanted to share this with you all.
Building relationships is so important in our line of business(Shaklee). This is what we are about, a relationships business, and in my eyes that is what this makes such a successful and great business to be part of. Sharing and helping other people to become successful is a big part of building meaningful relationships in this business.
I see many businesses out on the internet that want to sell you stuff, weather it is their product, or their website or other. They come across to me as very pushy, sometimes aggressive and "spamy", this is not the type of business I want to be part of at all. On the flip site, there are a lot of businesses out their that want to share their knowledge and help you get better and succeed.
Again I have to revere back to The Law of Attraction, this also plays a big role in building the type of business that you want to be part of. With the attitude that you have, you will set the tone for the type of business associates that you attract. And building a relationship with someone that shares your view is so much more pleasurable and productive. People also have to be coachable and it is very hard to coach a person you are not able to build a relationship with.
